What is the point of Rachel Reeves statement?

 Rachel Reeves,

 in her recent spring statement,  she emphasized the need for economic growth and stability in the UK. 

She also addressed challenges like reduced economic growth forecasts and inflation, proposing welfare cuts and increased defense spending to balance the budget.

She highlighted measures such as supporting infrastructure projects like a third runway at Heathrow, reforming pensions, and creating a national wealth fund. These initiatives aim to boost investment and improve living standards

 Reeves stressed the importance of adapting to global uncertainties while maintaining fiscal responsibility

Her message seems to focus on resilience, growth, and ensuring a stable economic future for the UK.

Here are some opinion people giving for her statement 

1- Who the hell are these people any more this is not the Labour I voted for vile vile vile the lot of them I will never ever vote for these again in my life I’ve always been Labour but now Il just not vote sad  day for me will never forgive -unknown 

2- “If you don't understand balance sheets you won't understand how ruinous this is. Reducing the government deficit means reducing the private sector surplus. 

Of course, the government will not achieve its promised surplus. But a lot of people will be worse off, more buinesses will have closed, more high streets will be depopulated, more people will die.

3- You're now telling me I'm going to be £500 better off.  Does that include or exclude the £300 energy saving Starmer promised, my increase utility bills, my increased council tax, my increased road tax, and all the increased prices about to hit the shops due to NI and living wage increases?    I'd love to have it all explained and an exact date that I'll actually receive my £500, or is it £800 - will it be by direct payment to my bank account?  or won't I see a penny? -unknown 

4-I’ve never heard so much drivel in all my life. Out right lying that living standards are up. Council tax is up. Food is up. Electric is up. Rent is up. Let’s build build build…… who is affording all these houses or are they freebies for the 30,000 boat crossers since labour came into power -unknown 

5-So forcing people back to work when the forecast says over the next few years more people will be unemployed because of the high rates she has set crippling businesses. 

People with severe disabilities having there health elements cut by half while the 30,000 that have arrived get payouts everyday 4 star hotels, personal security and under new plans a house. while people that are born in this country or come here legally will be forced onto the street as can't afford to live anymore, won't be able to work because there won't be any jobs and can't claim a benefit because wont be the money there anyway. Labour have gone beyond bringing this country to its knees, something needs to change and fast!!! -unknown
